Constraints + Drive = Magic
#This post is part of my 30 days writing challenge.
I have attended more classes in one year of my degree in nutrition
than I did in 4 years of my bachelor in electrical and electronics engineering.
To give you some context, during the final year of my bachelor’s, the students
were playing a football game against the faculty and I had an astonishing game.
Later, one of the professors almost accused us of cheating since he hadn’t seen me before and couldn’t believe that I sat into 2 of his courses 😂
During the second year, I failed two subjects that I had to retake
and one of them was Communication systems; My final score hovered around
a meager disappointing 10% because I decided to open the curriculum for the
first time exactly 13 hours before the exam.
What made matter worse is the fact that I had to do an internship in Riyadh
during the summer so I was hunted by lack of time, lack of fundamentals, and lack of attitude😅
but I really couldn’t afford an extra sluggish mediocre year of uni and
the chance of getting kicked-out so I had to slug hard for one week
tinkering with problems and figuring things out.
Eventually, I passed and scored 73 which is basically a first class honor in the UK system. I learned two things:
1. Constraints breed abundance sometimes as they breed creativity and give
you an immense drive to just make it happen.
2.Sometimes, your are neither lazy nor incompetent but just simply uninterested.
Once you flirt with what engages you and hit what sparks interest in you, you are
destined to do great things (Eventually
)!!!
