Paradise without people is not worth going to

#This post is part of my 30 days writing challenge.

It was a dull day, so dull that I forgot what day it was. You could smell the Dissonance in the air and you couldn’t help but notice that life is as sluggish as your least favorite topic, discussed by your least favorite YouTuber and played at. 5x the speed.

Heavily guarding our shawarma, me and a favorite friend  entered into the opposite of a stellar place; A bold– Except for a few hairs, that were not noticed by ignorant malpractice and utter carelessness – abandoned garden.

We  raced toward the bench to glue our hefty glutes. The seats were gleamed by dust and  almost ripped apart but reasoned that the stories they heard for free was worth holding their last breaths. We were Immediately served obligatory flies and were hugged by adamant mosquitoes, and If either one of us had the persistence of a mosquito, we would have won big or died trying!

Cats were binging on us, not even giving a single fabulous fig  about social distancing. It looked like a classic prison break. We were free, but completely prisoned by our beliefs, crippled by waiting for the ideal time, & simply trapped in places by our choices , and although we managed to escape multiple times, we kept coming back.

Amidst all that craziness and dullness, we had very happy moments. It is not about the place you go to, but rather the face you go with. It is not about the pictures you take, but the memories you paint. Although you should visit a stellar place, keep in mind that the Company you keep will make it or break it. As my grandmother- may Allah grant her Jannah- used to say:

Paradise without people is not worth going to.
