Reading’s magical seeds
#This post is part of my 30 days writing challenge.
I have had a lot of deja vu moments over the last 2 years particularly at times where I amplified my reading habits.
Sometimes, I am able to recall the experience/Idea that is similar to the one at hand but many times I am not able to do so.
I realized that your reading seeds won’t go to waste but rather stay dormant till you expose them to an environment that compels them to germinate.
This can be achieved by reading the book again and again, going through a similar experience, or simply reading a similar book.
Therefore, either reading multiple books or reading a book multiple times without taking notes is Innocuous thing since your seeds will be there waiting for you to feed and replenish them.
The more you read and the more you experience things, the more vigorous and rigorous your mental model is. Having said that, I truly wish that I had started taking notes earlier as I would have accumulated a rich cluster of wisdom and I would have had my own unique search engine albeit an add-free one.
Reading is planting ideas and harvesting is the inevitable corollary to it.
